Mexican Apple Cider Cocktail

Wednesday September 28, 2005
This cocktail recipe actually became popular in the city of Chimayo in New Mexico. They have an abundance of apple orchards and the apple farmers make all kinds of recipes from apples including brewing the fruit to make a cider. Mexicans have used apples in cocktails (similar to an apple margarita) for years. The city of Chimayo recently made it popular, especially the use of cider in the recipe. This recipe is smooth but potent, so be careful! If you double the amount of cider, it tames it down a bit. Try some Chimayo Cocktails at your next get-together or for an after dinner drink. You might be surprised at how smooth it really is. Don't forget to use a premium tequila such as Patrón or Tres Generaciones.
