Carne Asada Tacos

Monday July 24, 2006
Carne Asada Tacos made with Steamed Corn Tortillas, Carne Asada, Onions and Cilantro. If you've ever been to Mexico, you've probably picked up a couple of these bite-sized Carne Asada Tacos wrapped in foil and steaming hot. The tortillas are soft and chewy and the meat just about melts in your mouth. As you're reading this you're probably thinking about how you can get your hands on some right now. Why not make them yourself? Fresh is always best, and you can control your own ingredients. Enjoy some for dinner tonight!

I cannot seem to find in recipie what carne asada is and where it is purchased. What kind of meat is it and is it marinated?

(2) Guide to Mexican Cuisine says:

Carne asada is “flank” or “skirt” cuts of steak that you can find in most major grocery store chains. The steak can be cooked very simply with salt and pepper, or more flavorful marinades can be used such as combinations of chiles, lime, garlic and onions. Some “carnicerias” or Latin markets carry pre-marinated carne asada.
