Get a Head Start on your Day of the Dead and Halloween Preparations

Saturday September 30, 2006
Decorated Sugar Skulls With Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) approaching, get a head start by getting your supplies ready to make these fun Sugar Skulls. The skulls are Mexican folk art used to honor the deceased during the Day of the Dead holiday and they also make unique Halloween decorations. Children love to help make and decorate the skulls so they make a great craft idea too. And while you're making your sugar skulls, you can try out this recipe for this sweet masa-based beverage Atole that is used on Dia de los Muertos altars and enjoyed throughout October to remember the dead.
