Each country on the planet has it's own unique culinary offerings that other cultures find strange, odd or just plain weird. In Morrocco you may enjoy grilled calf brain and in the Phillipines, balut- a boiled duck egg with an actual baby duck inside. These foods may seem bizarre to other cultures, but it is part of their daily diet. In the United States we consume shrimp and pork regularly but some cultures find them to be distasteful. So in an effort to introduce you to some of Mexico's unusual foods, (including the chapulines or grasshoppers pictured at right) I have put together a weekly "Bizarre Foods of Mexico" newsletter that highlights some unique foods that you may think are weird, but in Mexico it's just lunch!
