Enjoy this rich and sweet Capirotada as a Thanksgiving dessert or for the holidays. Bread soaked in a sweet anise scented syrup and flavored with cinnamon and orange zest sets the perfect stage for raisins, apples and pecans. Don't miss out on this show-stopper!

In New Mexico, we make our capirotada (or sopa) with longhorn cheese as well as the other ingredients. It’s served hot with cream and is a rare treat. My mother used to make it every so often and we relished it!!!
