"Tequila has become increasingly recognized as the new member of an elite class of premium spirits that appeals to the most discriminating tastes and discerning palettes. The rise in popularity of tequila can be attributed in part to its dual appeal as a versatile mixer and party staple while at the same time standing on its own as a sipping spirit with all the complexity, range, and smoothness of its staid counterparts scotch and cognac. This 400-year-old spirit is the new kid on the artisanal block, and tequila brands both old and new have rushed to capture some degree of the same mystique and aura that the older residents of fine scotch or cognac have long enjoyed while simultaneously retaining its youthful appeal."

Estate-bottled Luna Malvada is a premium platinum tequila from Jalisco. The bottle itself is unique with a slightly eerie black powder coating and ghost-white text in a spooky font. The bottle also includes a beautiful glass stopper for easy access.

From Luna Malvada:
"Nearly 12 years in the making, Luna Malvada is not just another tequila found and rebottled like so many others. It was carefully and meticulously created from the ground-up from our fields, our plants, and our distillery. Luna Malvada’s Blue Weber Agave are not Highland or Lowland, but actually from the Tropical Dry Forests of Southern Jalisco where the soil is rich and fertile. The premium agave grown in this region is harvested only during the full moon cycle. . .when the plant is said to be healthiest and full of vitality. Our terroir approach to tequila-making results in a one-of-a-kind product that is complex, smooth, and flavorful . . .and rivals the finest tequilas in the world."

Plata

When you first pour Plata, take note of the aromas. It smells light and creamy with hints of citrus and a subtle floral undertone. It has the distinct woodsy scent of tequila, but soft and smooth, not overbearing.

When you taste it, you might be struck with just how smooth this tequila is. The creamy texture is complimented with a hint of anise and orange peel on the finish. It has the perfect amount of buttery tequila flavor without being overpowering.

Enjoy Plata alone, or use it to make a Margarita or a La Paloma.

Reposado

If you are a tequila-lover then this is the tequila for you. Thick and rich like honey-butter, with layers of magnolia and honeysuckle, Reposado has a story to tell. It smells strong and powerful with layers of pine and cloves. This is the perfect tequila for sipping on a cool winter evening to warm you up. It has a classic and intense tequila flavor with a bite, but is also oh-so-smooth. Pair it with Sangrita to compliment the flavors.
