Waborita

By Chelsie Kenyon, About.com

This drink was invented and made famous by Sammy Hagar. His restaurant and club the "Cabo Wabo Cantina" in Cabo San Lucas, serves this drink to thirsty travelers and tourists. Be careful though, it's stronger than it tastes. If you can find it, use premium Cabo Wabo tequila.

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz premium Cabo Wabo tequila
  • 2 oz lime juice, fresh squeezed
  • 2 oz Cointreau
  • ice
  • kosher salt (optional for rim of glass)

Preparation:

Mix tequila, lime juice and cointreau in a shaker and blend well. Pour over ice and garnish with a lime wedge.

To salt the rim, rub a lime around the edge of the glass and turn upside down onto a plate of kosher salt. Press glass into salt and gently remove, tapping glass to remove excess salt.
