Sapotes Dulces

By Chelsie Kenyon, About.com

If you can find sapotes, you are in for a treat when you make this traditionally Yucatan recipe. If you cannot find them, you can also substitute persimmons.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 5 sapotes negra
  • juice of 2 oranges
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup rum

Preparation:

Remove the skins and seeds from the sapotes. Crush or puree them and mix in the orange juice and sugar. Then, incorporate the rum. Chill in the refrigerator and serve in small chilled bowls.
