The aroma of freshly baking pan or "bread" filling your house is better than any scented candle. But making bread can take a few hours and if you have a busy schedule it can seem impossible. For a quicker alternative El Molino makes Pan de Muerto that can be delivered directly to you.

Since it is seasonal, it is only available to order in the months of October and November.

Pan de Muerto by El Molino

This Pan de Muerto was ordered through Mex Grocer and was at my door in just a few days. It was a nice large loaf and came wrapped in an airtight bag sitting inside a nice, round box.

The bread was surprisingly moist and very delicious. The sugar that is added to the top after baking had turned into a light glaze, and they provided more sugar to sprinkle on top. It was nicely sweetened and had a hint of anise and some other light flavors that were slightly overpowering at first, but after a few bites, it was fine. I would say this Pan de Muerto was the next best thing to home made.

Although I am a big fan of making my own bread, I would definitely order this again if I was crunched for time.
